Langdale Pikes EXTENDED CUT

Service Description

The Langdale Pikes are a symbol of the lake district. Instantly recognisable by their distinct summits, this group of fells screams Lakeland charm and offers the keen hiker a chance to bag seven Wainwright summits in a relatively short space of time. 12km - 950m - 7 Wainwrights This walk will begin in the National Trust Stickle Ghyll Car Park. Parking is free for members but please remember to scan your card. From the carpark we make the steady ascent to Stickle Tarn, where we will pause as a group and take in the views. From here we will walk around the tarn and start our climb to our first Wainwright of the day, Sergeant Man (736m). From here, the climbing eases as we cross the summit plateau to High Raise (762m), the tallest fell on today's walk. We will then take in the summits of Thunacar Knott (723m), Pavey Ark (700m), Harrison Stickle (736m), Pike of Stickle (709m) and Loft Crag (682m), before descending off the fell via Dungeon Ghyll, where the delights of many waterfalls await your discovery. I ask that all participants bring (as a minimum) the following to my walks: Waterproof Top and Bottoms Water Packed Lunch and plenty of Snacks Warm Layers Sun Protection If there is an item on the list that you don’t have but you’d still like to take part – please get in touch and I will try and find something for you to borrow. After sign up - you will be sent an email containing more information about the route, the things you need to bring, where we will meet and any special considerations. I will also email you within 48 hours of the walk to update you on expected weather conditions and any changes related to this.
